Okay, so I blogged a little while ago about my thoughts regarding vegetariansim, and more specifically, pescatarianism. Pescatarians follow a vegetarian diet, or in my case an ovo (eggs)/lacto (dairy) vegetarian diet with a small allowance for seafood. Last week, I strived toward eating mainly pescatarian meals during the week (there were a few left-overs that had chicken in them…I just hate to waste food). I am proud to say that the last 3 days have been purely pescatarian. I feel GREAT! I have so much more energy….and maybe it’s that I’m forced to eat more fruits and veggies due to the lack of, meat, but I really honestly feel better than I did a week ago.

I think that through this journey I will need to be mindful of transitioning to a purely ovo/lacto-vegetarian diet. My husband is currently learning about the toxins in certain fish and contaminants that could potentially be harmful if eaten in high quantities…he wants me to go back to eating chicken/turkey. I want to try the vegetarian thing…
So here’s the deal that we made: I can eat a pescatarian/vegetarian diet for a month. If at the end of said month, I am not getting enough protien (his main concern), then I have to go back to eating chicken/turkey. So far, I haven’t had any issues (but it’s also only been 3-ish days…today will be day 4). I know that I can do this. It’s all about planning and gathering as much knowledge and information as you can. I’ll keep you posted!
